ENROLLMENT / APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

See www.fafsa.ed.gov for information about applying for Federal Student Aid online.

We will help you fill out your application for Financial Aid!
Help sessions are every Wednesday when classes are in session, at 1:00 p.m. in SC 115. Bring your most recent tax return form. If possible, get a FAFSA pin number beforehand at www.pin.ed.gov.

If you cannot make one of these sessions, contact the Financial Aid Office for assistance.

A student may apply for a Federal Pell Grant, a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, a Federal College Work-Study and Alabama Student Assistance Program Grant by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students should allow 4-5 weeks for approval before the beginning of classes.

Students must apply for aid each academic year. (An academic year starts with fall semester and includes the following spring semester and summer term.)

The deadline to apply for financial aid for the academic year 2011-2012 is July 15, 2011. Current students are encouraged to apply by April 15, 2011.
 

REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR PELL GRANT RECIPIENTS NOT ON SCHOLARSHIP OR WIA/TRA

A student may register on his or her Pell Grant if all in house paperwork is complete. Pell Grants will not be processed registration day. The student may also go to the college bookstore, Textbooks Etc., 5 days prior to classes and charge books to the remaining Pell balance.
