"You can get all A's and still flunk life."--Walter Percy
"I have never let my schooling interfere with my education."--Mark Twain

Carolyn is a life-long resident of Dekalb County, Alabama.  She takes pride in her continued bond to her “roots.”  Quoting Mark Twain, she asserts, “I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”   She and her husband, Levone, reside in Fyffe, Alabama, and both are currently employed by Three Springs, Inc.

She is a 1972 graduate of Fyffe High School.  After graduating from NACC, she continued her education at Jacksonville State University where she earned a
B. S. and M. S. in education with majors in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation and English.  Later, she attended the University of Alabama where she completed an AA Certification in English.

Carolyn taught for twenty-five years in Jackson County, Alabama, at North Sand Mountain High School.  She has been an adjunct English teacher at NACC since 1990.  She teaches composition and American literature classes, both on campus and on-line.
