Carolyn is a life-long resident of Dekalb County,
Alabama. She takes pride in her continued bond to
her “roots.” Quoting Mark Twain, she asserts, “I
have never let my schooling interfere with my
education.” She and her husband, Levone, reside in
Fyffe, Alabama, and both are currently employed by
Three Springs, Inc.
She is a 1972
graduate of Fyffe High School. After graduating
from NACC, she continued her education at
Jacksonville State University where she earned a
B. S. and M. S. in education with majors in Health,
Physical Education, and Recreation and English.
Later, she attended the University of Alabama where
she completed an AA Certification in English.
Carolyn taught for twenty-five
years in Jackson County, Alabama, at North Sand
Mountain High School. She has been an adjunct
English teacher at NACC since 1990. She teaches
composition and American literature classes, both on
campus and on-line.
