Honorary Inducts New Members
The Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta at Northeast
Alabama Community College recently held its summer initiation. The ceremony
was held in the Music Auditorium. Forty-eight new candidates were
inducted into the club. Sigma Kappa Delta is an English honor society for
two-year college students. The NACC chapter was chartered in 1996, making it
the first in Alabama and the fourth in the nation. Since 1996, the Epsilon
Alpha Chapter has initiated over 1,970 students. Sigma Kappa Delta
recognizes students who have received a B or better in English 101 or 102
and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.3. Members of Sigma Kappa Delta
are given opportunities for scholarships locally and nationally.
Additionally, members can submit their fiction to the national SKD for
inclusion in the national literary journal, Hedera Helix.
