Sigma Kappa Delta is an honorary society for students interested in fostering the discipline of English in all its aspects, including literature, language, and both creative and critical writing. Members must have completed at least 12 semester hours of college credit and at least one credited English course attaining a B or better. The student must also have maintained a 3.3 G.P.A. at the time of induction. The primary project is the sponsorship of a writer to speak on campus, assistance with the English tutorial program, and the presentation of a scholarship to be used at Northeast. Northeast Alabama Community College established the first English honorary society for a two-year institution of higher education in Alabama and was the fourth in the nation. |
