Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) ~ The Test of
English as a foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of
nonnative speakers to use and understand English. This is required
if you are transferring from a country where English is not the
official language. Currently NACC will accept the paper-based test
with a minimum score requirement of 500 or the computer-based test
with a minimum score requirement of 173. For more information visit
the TOEFL website at www.toefl.org.
Affidavit of Financial Support ~ Present a signed and
notarized statement declaring you or your sponsor(s) will be
responsible for all financial obligations. The approximate cost per
year is $10000 to $28000 depending on the program and the number of
semesters you choose. A bank statement or bank letter (on letterhead
paper dated within six (6) months of the first date of class
attendance) MUST be attached to the Affidavit of financial Support.
These documents must be in English and U.S. dollars.
Proof of Adequate Health Insurance ~ The student must
present proof of adequate health and repatriation insurance which
must be maintained during all periods of enrollment.
UPON MEETING ALL
ABOVE REQUIREMENTS THE STUDENT WILL BE ISSUED AN I-20 FORM BY
NORTHEAST ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
F-1 Student Status
~ Once prospective students have received the I-20, they need to
apply for an F-1 visa at the nearest U.S. consulate of their home
country. See Visa application instructions. Students should check with
their local U. S. consulate for any special materials required for
visa application. For more information visit the U.S. Citizen and
Immigration Service webpage at:
http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm.
INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS WHO TRANSFER FROM WITHIN THE UNITED STATES MUST ALSO
OBTAIN:
Official Transcripts from Previous Institutions ~ Have official
transcripts of student's records mailed from all previous
attended colleges and universities directly to Northeast
Alabama Community College.
A
Transfer Clearance Form
(pdf) ~ Complete this Transfer Clearance Form which
must clearly indicate that the student is in good standing or
in-status from the previous institution.
NOTE: There is no housing on the Northeast Alabama Community
College campus, and housing within walking distance is very limited.
This makes it very difficult for an international student who has no
friends or family in the area. Apartments are available within
commuting (driving) distance.
