To begin the admission procedure, the student needs to contact the
Dean of Student Services at:

First Time College Students
Must Have:
1. A complete
application in English submitted 60 days before the beginning of the
semester: see NACC Application for
Admission.
2. Official
transcripts in English that document their graduation from a
secondary school that is equivalent to a U.S. high school, and
transcripts from all colleges and universities they have previously
attended. Records must be mailed directly to Northeast Alabama
Community College from the institution attended. Personal copies are
not accepted. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an
approved transcript evaluation service. Click here (http://www.lisano-intl.com/)
for the website of the evaluation service recommended by
Northeast. The international student will be responsible for
contacting Lisano International Foreign Educational Credential
Evaluation and making arrangements for whatever fees or
requirements that are necessary. Request that a copy of this
evaluation be mailed to Northeast Alabama Community College. The
transcripts must be evaluated not just translated.
3. Test of English as foreign language (TOEFL) requirements:

A minimum written score of 500 or
-
A minimum computer-based score of 173 or
-
A minimum internet-based score of 61
-
The scores must be mailed directly to the Office of
Admissions at Northeast Alabama Community College.

The TOEFL Test is not administered at Northeast.
Exceptions (TOEFL not
required):
A. A graduate of an accredited U. S. high school, or
an accredited American high school overseas, or
B. A citizen of an English-speaking country that has
been granted exemption to the TOEFL policy. See

C. Students who have completed ENG 101 or its
equivalent at an accredited college or university with a
grade of “C” or better may be exempt from the TOEFL
requirements.
4. A signed
notarized statement declaring that the international applicant will
be fully responsible and that funds are available for all financial
obligations during the enrollment with Northeast. Financial
obligations include but are not limited to tuition and fees, books
and supplies, living expenses, housing and miscellaneous expenses. A
bank statement or bank letter (on official bank letterhead) dated
within six (6) months of the first day of class attendance must be
attached. All documents must be in English and show amounts in U. S.
dollars. See Affidavit of Financial

5. Documentation of
health insurance which includes repatriation and must be maintained
during all terms of enrollment at Northeast. See
Insurance Providers.
6. Secure private
housing. Northeast does not provide dormitory facilities. Apartments
are available within driving distance.
7. The
international student will pay our-of-state tuition. There is no
financial aid available for international students.
International Transfer Students
Any international student who has attended an accredited college
or university may be considered for admission as a transfer student.
Transfer students must comply with all the items listed under First Time College Students. Additionally, international
transfer students must provide the following:
A. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and
universities mailed directly to Northeast Alabama Community College.
B. Provide a
Transfer Clearance Form
(pdf document) completed by the student and signed by
the appropriate administrator from the college previously attended.
This ensures that the student has remained IN-STATUS at the previous
college.

Once all admissions documents are received by The College, the
student’s information will be entered on the Student and Exchange
Visitor Information System (SEVIS) at the Immigration and
Naturalization Service (INS). The I-20 will then be printed and
mailed to the student so the he/she may obtain a student visa (F-1).

The I-20 will not be issued to part-time or transient international
students.
