REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
High School Graduates
First-time admission to college degree programs at Northeast is
open to anyone with the Alabama High School Diploma or an
equivalent as defined by the State Board of Education.
Transfer Students
Students with credit from another college will be admitted
unconditionally if eligible to return to their previous college.
If they are not, they should contact the Office of Admissions
for more information.
International Students
We welcome international students. We are glad to learn of your
interest in college and look forward to having you as a student.
Please see our Admission Requirements for International
Students.
Admission Not for College Credit
Under certain circumstances, an applicant who does not meet
admission requirements may be admitted to a particular course or
program that does not carry college credit.
Students Still in High School
-
Dual-enrollment/dual credit students take college courses to
earn credit for both college and high school requirements. Both
the students and the courses must be approved in advance by the
high school and Northeast. Students and instructors should print
and keep the Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit Policy and Procedures
Guide.
-
Accelerated students take college courses before high school
graduation, if approved by their high schools and with certain
limitations. Credit does NOT count as high school credit.
Students interested in either dual
enrollment/dual credit or accelerated enrollment should see
their high school counselors for full information, including
permission forms and Application for Admission forms. High
school transcripts are also required. At Northeast, contact
Tonie Niblett, Dean of Student Services.
After accelerated or dual enrollment/dual credit students become
eligible for regular (unconditional) admission to Northeast by
submitting proof of high school graduation, the courses they
have completed at Northeast will count for college credit.
Compass Test
You will be assigned a time to take the Compass Test for
